The Central American isthmus region is included in Post-It City - Occasional urbanities, to give visibility to certain particular ways casting doubt on parameters that condition the “urban” in Central America cities, from their own local determinants and with different ways of re-using public spaces. San Salvador (El Salvador): permanent appropriation of a cemetery as a residential space and a space for human contact, leading to cultural, vital relations, made visible through the documentary “Among the dead”, by the filmmaker Jorge Dalton. (See: http://collaborations.denison.edu/istmo/n13/articulos/dalton.html). Managua (Nicaragua): preparation of a porn cinema “La July”, in Managua, for workshops and presentations of videos by young artists from the so-called E.V.I.L. (Latin American Video Army) group, as well as alternative music concerts and other cultural events. (See: http//www.ernestosalmeron.com). Costa Rica: reuse of an area of wasteland by dropouts and destitute alcoholics to celebrate Christmas and Christmas Eve. Likewise, counterpolitical and anarchist actions by the magazine Kasandra, a publication that is proposed as a sort of “virtual city”. (See: http//www.kasandra.org/).
