Barcelona Situations The urbanistic and political dynamics that have affected the city of Barcelona over the past few years have been contested, time and time again, by the community through numerous protests and demonstrations. The marginalisation of immigrant communities, the redevelopment processes in the city’s neighbourhoods, the housing shortage, municipal bylaws governing uses of public space, amnesia about local history or the hypocrisy that underpins major official events; all these things have been challenged by protest platforms and the occupation of spaces. In order to give an account of these acts of resistance, we have compiled a series of documentaries recorded by their protagonists, without altering their points of view in any way. |
